180 cranes in Norfolk banned

A construction equipment hire company has been ordered to take out of service 180 tower cranes after two collapsed and three people died

A construction equipment hire company has been ordered to take out of service 180 tower cranes after two collapsed and three people died.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has served a Prohibition Notice on Falcon Crane Hire of Shipdam, Norfolk.

The firm must stop operating all tower cranes in its fleet that have not been sufficiently examined.

Cranes collapsed at a site in Battersea in London in September and Liverpool earlier this month.

Both incidents are being investigated by the HSE.
