Company: EC Harris
Designation: Middle East Regional Leader
John Williams, the partner in charge of project management firm EC Harris’s regional operations, described his firm’s past 12 months in the GCC as providing “an exceptional year of growth”.
The company was appointed as part of a joint venture with Mace to become project manager of the world’s tallest building, Kingdom Tower, by its developer Jeddah Economic Company.
EC Harris is now part of Dutch engineering consultancy Arcadis, which had worldwide revenues of $870mn last year, and also provided project management and commercial advisory services on the 25,000-seat Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, which was completed in just 18 months.
The company’s regional headcount has increased by more than 50% from December 2012 to December 2013. An employee survey showed a high engagement score of 3.06 compared to an industry average of 2.6.
Williams said: “We look forward to helping [our clients] achieve their ambitious plans as the GCC countries deliver their visions, prepare for major events on an international stage such as Dubai Expo 2020 and Qatar World Cup 2022 and continue to deliver some of the world’s most exciting projects.”
