The awards seem to just keep coming for project management firm Projacs this year. The Kuwait-based company has been appointed to carry out the cost consultancy work for the Place Vendome shopping mall project set to be built in Lusail City in Qatar by developer UDC.
In March, it was awarded a project management deal to oversee construction of the new Al Khobar Views project, containing a 14-storey tower set to be built in 18 months and in Oman it was picked by United Kuwaiti Real Estate Company to handle the design and tender management of a new eco-friendly resort proposed for Salalah.
Projacs was started by Luay Khoury and two founding partners 30 years ago. It now has a network of 20 offices across the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, and has worked in 24 countries. To date, it has managed hundreds of projects worth around $30bn and has a current pipeline of around 600 projects.
These include the Arab Banking Corporation HQ in Amman, Jordan, The Palestine Museum, the refurbishment of Dubai’s Burjuman Centre and the masterplanning of Mass City in Erbil, Kurdistan. Other project wins include the Amwaj Gateway project in Bahrain for Real Capita, as well as 70 villas and a design management deal for a 20,000m2 waste electrical equipment recycling site in Jeddah.
It also landed a one-year deal with GlaxoSmithKline to cover the upgrade of two pharmaceutical plants in Egypt. Projacs employs around 600 staff.
