Company: KEO International Consultants
KEO is another consultancy which has been benefitting from the upswing in contract awards and announcements in Qatar.
The firm, which offers a range of building consultancy services from architecture and engineering design to project management, has picked up some choice contracts, including a project management deal for Qatar’s first World Cup stadium in Al Wakrah, a $63mn contract to be design and supervision management consultant for Ashghal’s new Doha Zoo and the design for the $1bn Damac by Paramount Towers project in Dubai.
The consultancy was also triumphant at the 2013 Construction Week Qatar awards, where two of the firm’s staff were named Engineer of the Year and Project Manager of the Year at the awards ceremony in September. KEO was also named Consultancy of the Year.
The practice, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has been headed by its current CEO, Donna Sultan, since 1991. It has 12 offices in eight countries and employs 2,400 staff.
“And we are in a heavy recruitment mode to be increasing that number considerably in the near term,” Sultan told CW.
Projects currently on its books include a $260mn, dhow-shaped headquarters building for Kuwait Investment Authority, due to complete next year, the $1.4bn QP District in Doha for Qatar Petroleum set to finish this year and the Sidra Medical Complex for Qatar Foundation.
