Designation: President & CEO
TAV Construction president and CEO Dr. Eng. Sani Sener would be forgiven for still celebrating after his company was named the world’s second-largest in the airport construction sector late last year. But Sener is not a man that rests on his laurels.
TAV Construction has been involved in a number of showcase airport projects around the GCC, including the recently-completed Passenger Terminal Complex at the Hamad International Airport in Qatar.
The firm is also on site as part of a consortium with Arabtec and CCC constructing the $3bn Midfield Terminal Building at Abu Dhabi International Airport, which is set to complete in July 2017.
It is also working on the delivery of airside infrastructure at the $1.7bn Muscat International Airport project and the $400mn contract for the design and build of Terminal 5 at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. It is part of a partnership with contractors Al Arrab and Saudi Oger delivering the first privately-financed airport in the Kingdom under a 25-year build, operate, transfer model at Madinah International Airport and is tendering to deliver the proposed new Kuwait International Airport. In total, the value of its undertaken work (including completed projects) stands at $16bn.
Alongside its airport expertise, TAV is continuing to pick up work building tall towers. In September 2013, it won the tender to construct the $1bn Damac Towers by Paramount project in Dubai’s Business Bay, which is the largest contract ever handed out by Damac, for a series of four towers being built on a shared podium.
