Company: El Seif Engineering Contracting
Khaled Musaed El Seif is confident that the company that bears his family name will sustain itself as one of the largest and most trusted contracting players in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
El Seif Engineering Contracting was established in 1975, more than 20 years after the establishment of its parent company, El Seif Group, which focused on commerce and transport.
Under Khaled Musaed El Seif’s leadership, the firm has grown to employ more than 40,000 staff members. Today, it caters to both construction and maintenance applications, with a particular focus on hospital projects, related equipment supply, and tall-tower developments.
El Seif is currently working on some of the most high-profile projects in the region, including packages for Saudi Arabia’s Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University for women, and King Abdullah Financial District, and a major contract for the New Doha International Airport in Qatar. Other significant projects have included Kingdom Tower. In April, the company landed a $1.4bn (SAR5.25bn) Saudi housing deal to build 2,800 villas.
Growing resources, expanding activities, and increasing involvement in regional property development means the firm’s role in the region’s progress is becoming ever-more significant. However, its chairman’s influence and activities stretch far beyond construction; he has been active in a host of committees, councils and delegations to promote international trade.
For example, El Seif’s work has included stints on the Saudi Committee for the Development of International Trade at the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He has also been involved with the Saudi-British Joint Business Council and the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce in London, and various other organisations.
He continues to serve on the boards of numerous KSA and international companies, in addition to steering the future growth of the El Seif Group.
