Established in 1970, HBK Contracting undertook various civil construction projects in Qatar, thus making a significant contribution to the economic progress of the country and the government sector. The firm is involved in the construction and maintenance of contracting services for public buildings, hospitals, high-rise towers, and various other infrastructure projects.
HBK has executed numerous important projects for a selection of high-profile clients, including Ashghal, Kahramaa, Qatar Rail, Qatar Petroleum, Doha New Port Project, Msheireb Properties and many others from the private sector.
During the last year, HBK has been working on the $89.8m (QAR326.9m) Qatar International Islamic Bank Tower, as the main contractor.
On top of that, the company conducted the substructure and superstructure works for the $94.7bn (QAR344.7bn) Heart of Doha. This project involves the development and regeneration of inner Doha, whilst preserving the heritage of its buildings. Other completed projects include the $89.2m (QAR324.7m) Msheireb building.
At present, HBK is working as the main contractor at Lusail City’s Marina Mall. The firm also bagged the $686m (QAR2.5bn) construction contract for Phase 3 of the flagship Msheireb Downtown Doha project. As the penultimate stage, the awarding of this construction contract marks a key milestone for the development.
