Abdulrahman al-Marouf is chairman, managing director, CEO, and a major shareholder at Combined Group Contracting Company (CGCC), a private Kuwait-based firm specialising in roads, infrastructure, housing, and oil and gas works. It has enjoyed strong revenue anmd income growth for the past five years.
The company reported a net profit for the nine months ending on September 30, 2014 of $11.8m (KWD3.56m), an increase of 11%.
CGCC was established in 1965 in Kuwait as a limited liability company, and became a publicly traded shareholding company in 2005 with a paid up capital of $36.9m (KWD11.16m).
In October 2012 its portfolio received a boost with the awarding of the $2.6bn Jaber al-Ahmed Causeway project in a joint venture with South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
In 2013, the company signed partnerships with US-based Langdon Wilson, Shapoorji Pallonji, Samsung Engineering, Italy’s Carlo Gavazzi, and Spain’s Sacyr Vallehermoso. It also opened a subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, an asphalt emulsion plant in Kuwait, and signed contracts worth $400m.
In mid-2014 Ashghal awarded a deal worth $86m for new integrated infrastructure in North and East Al Kheesa, Qatar, to a JV of CGCC and Sacyr Construction.
