Company: KEO International Consultants
Donna Sultan has spent 38 years working in the Middle East, of which 33 have been with KEO International Consultants, and 24 in her role as the company’s chief executive officer. The company is 2,550 strong, comprising 1,124 qualified engineers and 397 female employees.
KEO’s notable projects include Muscat International Airport, where the company provided structural engineering services and bills of quantities; Duqm Industrial City, where KEO carried out feasibility studies, master-plan designs, detailed design of infrastructure, quantity surveying, and tendering services; and, Saraya Bandar Jissah, where KEO’s role entails construction supervision.
The company’s goal for 2015 and coming 12 months is to be selected as a consultant, whether as design consultant or project manager, on any of the top 10 mega projects being announced in the Middle East and North Africa region.
KEO admits, however, that there are many challenges facing the industry, and one of the toughest remains attracting and retaining human capital resources in such a strong and tough competitive market within MENA. It recognises that there has been an upswing in project opportunities globally for the existing talent pool, and KEO predicts that, over the coming year, it will be even tougher to attract the best employees to the region.
