Abu Dhabi’s Urban Planning Council (UPC) is the body responsible for approving all major projects in the Emirate. It gave the green light for 22 projects during the first quarter of 2015. Taken together, these projects comprise approximately 700,000m2 of space. The green-lit developments included a new two-level, 30,000m2 community retail mall for the Al Falah community near to Abu Dhabi International Airport, and a new project containing 73 villas at Madinat Zayed.
