Abu Dhabi Media Company reveals more details of English football coverage plan.
Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) on Tuesday announced more details about its plans for its live coverage of the English Premier League which starts in August.
The broadcaster said that Premier League TV, a new 24/7 channel from the English Premier League, will be part of its Premier League subscription package when the new season kicks off.
The channel, available in HD, produced in English and broadcast from London, is part of the ADMC deal to screen three seasons of the EPL, starting with 2010/2011.
Premier League TV will give fans access to all 380 matches, ADMC said in a statement.
The core programming for the channel, which will run on Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya, will be driven by the live games throughout the season, with a possibility of up to six games per weekend.
The channel will feature pre and post match studio shows, expert analysis and international phone-ins while the channel will also include classic matches from the Premier League’s extensive archive, daily football news bulletins and breaking news crawlers.
“We are committed to providing the very best sports content and the most engaging and immersive viewing experience to our audiences. Today's announcement represents the next step in fulfilling our mission,” said Karim Sarkis, executive director of Broadcast at ADMC.
Pricing for the package has still to be announced.
“To complement this English-language content, we will also offer customized content from the Premier League channel in Arabic,” added Mohammed Najeeb, director of Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya Channels.
“I personally believe the combination of our Arabic Premier League offering with the official Premier League channel will provide viewers in the region with Premier League programming which rivals the programming available anywhere in the world." Kicking off in mid-August, live Premier League games will be shown exclusively on Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya subscription channels, which can be accessed through a high-definition set-top box, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), and streaming via broadband Internet.
will it be available on Evision and what will be the price..i hope it is as competitive as Jazeera Sports.
Etisalat is around our house digging the ground to lay down their fiber cables. As a person having extreme passion for English Premier League, I hope Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya will be available on Etisalat eLife, otherwise I have already too many receivers and electronics gadgets, and I will not go for another one to watch only Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya!
