At least 40 people were injured on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Manila when the aircraft experienced severe turbulence during it's final approach to the airport.

Philippine news station TV5 reported that the Qatar Airways flight QR 932 experienced downdraft about 30 minutes prior to landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Saturday afternoon, which caused injuries to passengers who were not wearing seatbelts.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, the pilot requested priority landing at NAIA, citing the injured passengers, which included three children and two flight attendants.

Medical assistance was provided once the flight landed safely, with one passenger brought to hospital as a result of their injuries.
