Jewel Trading managing director Shekhtar Patni has become the latest businessman to receive a 10-year UAE residency visa, it has been announced.
Patni received his 10-year visa received from the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) on Sunday.
“This is yet another step by the leaders of the UAE to make the country a preferred destination for investors,” Patni was quoted as saying by Gulf News. “I am extremely grateful for this recognition.”
Patni – who said he came to the UAE with AED 400 – is at the helm of Jewel Trading LLC, which was founded in 1991 with a branch at the Dubai Gold Souk.
Today, the company has seven outlets and a wholesale division located across the country.
“I am happy to belong to a very special group of residents who have been privileged to get this honour,” he added. “This wonderful country has helped me establish my business in gold, diamond and silver jewellery.”
