What's your greatest achievement?
I would say it was having a son and being there to watch him grow.
What about in business?
I rescued a credit insurance company in Italy from closing. I proposed a strategic development plan which was successfully executed, saving the business and its staff.
Name the single biggest problem facing the financial industry today.
The increasing trend in claims due to the global economic slowdown.
What do you most enjoy about working at COFACE?
I enjoy having the same perspective in business as my boss, working on reports with my team and peers, and seeing our clients happy. I am also satisfied whenever we deliver the best for them, helping them to reach their targets – in terms of growth in turnover, reduction in losses, for example.
What inspires you?
I have two inspirational leaders who I admire most for their ethics, their wise judgement, energy and determination. They would be my mother and my father.
Say one thing most people don't know about you.
Many people don't know that secretly I am a romantic at heart.
How does someone become successful?
I believe successful people have a strong sense of leadership, humility and passion for their job. They also need to be active listeners, and are not afraid of taking risks. They also tend to see the opportunity in challenging situations, not the challenges in opportunities.
How do you make decisions?
I listen to my staff's advices and anticipate the consequences. Only then can I take a calculated risk.
