Drake & Scull Qatar, a unit of Dubai contractor Drake & Scull International, won a QAR304m (US$83.5m) contract for a mixed use development project in Doha.
Work will cover substructure and superstructure works within a 260,000 sqm built-up area, containing three superblocks, housing, residential buildings, schools, utilities, offices and retail buildings, the company said in a regulatory filing.
"The development serves as one of our flagship projects in Qatar that strongly demonstrates the full spectrum of our service portfolio," said Karem Akawi, Drake & Scull Qatar's manager.
"Our integrated EPC solutions and particularly the MEP and the water and power are vital factors that will strengthen our presence in Qatar, which we expect to develop into a long-term market on par with other regional powerhouse markets such as KSA and the UAE," he added. For all the latest construction news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
