The ISO Group was founded in 1979 as a professional supplier for software products within the international travel industry.

The philosophy of Monaco is to concentrate on the key functions of a PMS system.

Until now ISO has concentrated on developing inbound and outbound tour operator solutions that run with major travel companies worldwide, for instance the Emirates Group in Dubai (Emirates Holidays, Dnata and Emirates Tours), Etihad Holidays in Abu Dhabi, Air Canada Vacations in Canada, the TUI Group, Thomas Cook and many others.

Based in Nuremberg, Germany, ISO employs close to 300 IT professionals, with offices in Austria, Poland and Canada and is about to open a new local support and sales office in Internet City in Dubai.

Due to this close relationship with tour operators, ISO has always been affiliated to the hotel industry and its special requirements.

How long has ISO been working with the hotel industry?

ISO set up Monaco as a property management system for hotels in 2007. The decision to generate a new PMS has been mostly influenced by the requests of our tour operator clients that required a close connection between our travel solutions and the PMS of their contracted hotels.

Why did ISO decide to produce solutions for the hotel industry?

As a solution provider for tour operators and travel agents, ISO has been asked to provide a solution to be able to manage and book allocations directly in the hotels.

With MONACO and the direct link to our tour operator solutions this is now possible and offers much wider opportunities and flexibility. The Middle East market with its fast growing hotel business is a challenging and important market for us.

The introduction of our new sales office in Dubai is a clear sign that the Middle East is a key market for all our hospitality solutions in future.

What hotels does ISO work with in the Middle East?

In the Middle East there is no installation of Monaco at present. The Arabian Travel Market will be our entry into this region and will hopefully provide us with the equivalent interest and contacts to make Monaco one of the leading PMS solutions in the Middle East over the new few years.

ISO has been exhibiting at ATM for several years. Last year was especially significant as we had a high demand from hotels that were looking for a PMS solution.

We therefore have a large database of interested individual hotels and hotel chains that we are already in contact with. At this year's ATM we will focus on these contacts, as well as looking to gain new ones.

What are ISO's plans for expansion in the Middle East?

Several major national tour operator companies are already working with our solution (Emirates, Dnata and Etihad). In combination with the founding of our new local sales and support office in Dubai, ISO is pushing very hard to expand its role within the Middle East.

Especially within the Middle East market it is essential to have a local office to meet the needs of the local sales demand.

What solutions can ISO provide for the hotel industry?

The philosophy of Monaco is to concentrate on the key functions of a PMS system -- reservations, sales and revenue management. It is not our intention to provide an all-in-one solution as this is not necessary for most hotels. Together with our partners we will manage solutions that fit 100% with the needs of the hotel.

Our CRM system Emerald will provide a multi-property solution for hotel chains that combines CRM functionality such as campaign management with the ability to handle customer data within a central database, available for all hotels simultaneously on request.

How can each of these solutions benefit the hotel industry?

Monaco offers an easy to use and practically orientated PMS solution that is suitable for all sizes of hotel. Especially for the small and medium size hotels there is a basic Yield Management Tool integrated that manages availability and prices automatically and very efficiently.

Our CRM system, that can be used as multi-property or single operated solution, provides a powerful tool that gives hotels the ability to manage marketing activities in an easy and goal orientated way.

How do these solutions fill a gap in the market?

Concentration on the needs of a hotel combined with powerful tools to manage daily business are the core features of Monaco and Emerald. Sales handling and yield management are the key features. Monaco also flexibly runs on most operating systems such as Windows, Mac, Unix and Linux. How will Monaco benefit hotels?

Monaco is a new PMS that has been developed together with hospitality industry specialists. It is therefore directly focused on the needs of the hoteliers and will fit them 100%. The handling of Monaco is easy and mostly self explanatory.

The server is not covered with icons and little buttons that prevent the staff from communication with the customer. The sales module in particular makes it easy for the hotel to manage its contacts and handle revenue and statistics.

All operations work on one Oracle database that provides a stable and long lasting environment for the hotel's data. Monaco is much more price attractive than other solutions on the market and due to the fact that it runs on Linux the hotel can save money by using it.

Why have you chosen ATM to launch the solution?

ISO has been exhibiting at the ATM since the beginning of the 90s. We have found that ATM is the best place to showcase our products in the Middle East/Arabian market due to the high quality of the customers that visit the fair.

The Middle East customer is always keen on seeing and trying new products such as our new PMS solution. What other solutions do you have in the pipeline?

We have a new service-oriented architecture approach to a component-based CRM for tour operators and tourism portals in combination with ISO hospitality products. ISO is also the new hospitality solution provider for [European software firm] SAP AG.

So any hospitality company using SAP or interested in using SAP can get an IT solution from us, in connection with SAP ERP (enterprise resource planning). ISO is launching a partnership with AddressDoctor at the ATM.

ISO hospitality products will be offered with the AddressDoctor global address management to complete address data for 240 countries and territories.

Especially for our CRM and PMS product, this partnership will guarantee our clients maximum data quality. All our hospitality products such as MONACO are integrated within the above mentioned environments and solutions.
