ABM Amro targets wealthy clients

The Dutch bank hopes that the name of genius artist, Vincent Van Gogh, will help it lure affluent individuals.

ABN Amro has introduced a branded banking service, dubbed ‘Van Gogh Preferred Banking’, for customers with US $100,000 in assets.Customers of Van Gogh Preferred Banking receive a dedicated relationship manager, use of a plush lounge at the ABM Amro Bur Dubai branch and access to a range of perks and services.These include higher ATM withdrawal limits, better rates on time deposits and a free gold credit card. Products offered to Van Gogh clients include capital guaranteed notes, mutual funds and fixed income funds.“Van Gogh the painter combined his life and art to give the world a vibrant and enduring legacy. We approach our affluent customers with the same passion, creativity and integrity, which were exemplified by Vincent Van Gogh,” enthused Jan Peter Schmittmann, senior executive vice president, private clients/new growth markets, ABN Amro.
