DIC Telecom, which provides Emaar residents in Dubai with internet services, has brought its broadband prices in line with Etisalat’s UAE-wide monthly ‘Al Shamil’ fees.
In a move that will please Emaar residents who have of late been paying above the odds to log online, DIC Telecom has chopped its monthly charges by up to 65%.
DIC’s slowest 512Kbps service has been reduced from AED225 per month down to AED189 (identical to Etisalat’s current Al Shamil rate), while its 1Mbps service has been chopped by 50%, from AED500 down to Al Shamil’s fee of AED249.
The biggest price reduction however, of 65%, is for DIC’s quick 2Mbps net connection, which will now set back users just AED349 per month, whereas previously it cost a whopping AED1000.
DIC Telecom’s customers received word of these price changes by e-mail yesterday and need not do anything to take advantage of them, instead they will be automatically reflected in customers’ January 06 bills when these are sent in Feburary.
