Mart Networks finalises third party logistics partners

Mart Network Solutions has finalised agreements with Danzas and DHL to provide warehousing and logistics services for its Middle East distribution tie-up with structured cabling vendor Siemon.

Mart Network Solutions has finalised agreements with Danzas and DHL to provide warehousing and logistics services for its Middle East distribution tie-up with structured cabling vendor Siemon.

Mart, which picked up Siemon distribution rights for the entire Middle East with the exception of the UAE in late 2005, will hold stock at Danzas’ facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone and will offer a trucking service through DHL.

“The first batch of containers will arrive at the Danzas facility by mid-March,” explained Aunally Maloo, managing director at Mart. “We have gone ahead with DHL and Danzas and believe this will offer a high-quality service to partners throughout the Middle East.”

Mart Network Solution has developed a strong relationship with Siemon. According to Aunally, the Middle East market is already worth more than US$10m per annum. Mart was named as runner-up for Siemon’s premier distributor award at the vendor’s recent Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) distribution conference.

Keith Astin, managing director at Siemon EMEA, said: “Maintaining a strong network of distributors is a key part of our business strategy and we aim to achieve effective long-term partnerships across the EMEA region.”

“By working together we can add real value to the business and our premier distributor partner awards highlight the commitment everyone has to achieving success,” he added.

Mart’s Gurprit Bilkhu picked up the network cabling specialist of the year award from Siemon in late 2005 in recognition of the company’s success and efforts in the North African market.

Steven Foster, EMEA marketing manager at Siemon, said: “This was our first winning network cabling specialist (NCS) and it was extremely difficult to decide amongst such proactive individuals. Throughout the year each NCS has a plan and objectives set by Siemon and we chose a winner based on the results. The programme is a great way to work together and has been very successful, demonstrating our commitment to our channel partners.”

Mart is committed to ramping up its activities and presence in the Middle East during 2006. Maloo reckons that the new logistics set-up will allow it to truck Siemon’s fibre and copper cabling anywhere in the region within 48 hours. The company plans to operate a two-tier distribution network in the region and will look to appoint in-country distributors capable of holding stock for local resellers. Simultaneously, Mart will look to engage directly with large systems integrators carrying out enterprise cabling projects.
