Oasis International Leasing, the Abu Dhabi-based leasing company, has acquired two Airbus A340-300s, with attached operating leases, in a joint venture with Willis Lease Finance Corporation. Both aircraft are operated by Emirates.
The deal is one of a series of transactions involving the company. In partnership with Compass Capital, Oasis has also acquired a Boeing 737-500 with an attached finance lease. The aircraft is operated by Continental Airlines.
The remaining deals involve the leasing of two A320s to Spain’s LTE and the sale of two Embraer EMB-120RT turboprop aircraft in partnership with Compass Capital.
“These transactions are tangible evidence of the upward swing in the leasing business cycle as lease rates increase and aircraft values rise,” said Gordon Dixon, chief executive officer, Oasis Leasing.
“In particular, the A320s, which were coming to the end of their lease periods early this year, have been remarketed at significantly higher lease rates. Meanwhile, we will realise a good profit from the sale of the two Embraer aircraft.”
Oasis Leasing has 20 aircraft on long term lease to major airlines around the world, including Emirates, Gulf Air, Air Canada and Continental Airlines.
