Saudi German Hospitals (SGH) Group, a private healthcare provider, has awarded Siemens Medical Solutions an AED100 million (US $27 million) contract to equip a new facility in Yemen. Siemens Medical Solutions will supply diagnostic imaging solutions, along with a comprehensive oncology suite, to SGH’s new tertiary level hospital in Sanaa, Yemen.
SGH Sanaa is a 300 bed facility, run in a public-private partnership, which is described by Siemens as the ‘Mayo’ clinic of the region. According to the company, the provision of leading edge technology in the hospital will mean Yemenis have access to the ultimate in diagnosis and treatment facilities.

This enables us to ensure that our patients receive the very highest of care and treatment at our hospitals, from preventative screening, to diagnosis, right through to treatment and subsequent discharge.”
Siemens will supply the hospital with a diagnostic imaging solution that will include the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner Magnetom Avanto, the RIS & PACS system for filmless digital operation; molecular imaging tools, an angiography system and Cathlab. The oncology suite will provide a radiation therapy tool, which will be used for diagnosis of cancer, treatment planning, treatment and follow-up.

SGH Group aims to have 30 ‘world class’ hospitals and employ 50,000 people by the year 2015.
