SRK in Dubai: Pathaan trailer staring Shah Rukh Khan to be played on Burj Khalifa

Pathaan is the most eagerly anticipated Bollywood film of the year and marks a big screen comeback for SRK.

It is Shah Rukh Khan’s first significant role since 2018’s “Zero” and has been generating massive publicity for months. Action sequences were filmed in Dubai and the city features prominently in the Pathaan trailer.

The 57-year-old icon is in the UAE for the opening ceremony of the International League T20 cricket tournament and the film’s producer and distributor, Yash Raj Films, said he will be at the Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai to see the film projected onto the giant  skyscraper.

In a tweet announcing the Pathaan trailer being on the Burj Khalifa Yash Raj Films said: “Brace yourselves for a visual spectacle – catch #PathaanTrailer on Burj Khalifa on January 14 ???”

YRJ added the film will hit general cinemas on January 25 and is releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

India’s NDTV carried reports confirming SRK will be in attendance for the Dubai Burj Khalifa screening.

“We are thrilled to announce that Dubai will be celebrating Shah Rakh Khan and Pathaan as the trailer of the film will be showcased on the iconic Burj Khalifa.

“We are delighted that Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently in UAE for the International League T20, will make time to be present when the trailer plays out on one of the most significant architectural marvels of the world.

“SRK has an unprecedented fan following in the UAE and we feel this activity befits the hype that Pathaan carries today”.

The upcoming movie also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, with a cameo appearance by Salman Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan is no stranger to the Burj Khalifa. The Bollywood icon was the recipient of a light show on the Burj Khalifa, on his birthday last year.

The light show on Burj Khalifa featured a message to the superstar, which read “Happy Birthday Shah Rukh… Happy Birthday Pathaan, we love you.”

Often addressed as ‘King Khan’ by his fans, is the face of Dubai Tourism as well and calls the emirate his “second home.”
