Zebra earns channel stripes

Specialist printer vendor Zebra Technologies has earned some Middle East channel stripes, naming Alaa Nawash as its dedicated channel account manager in the region.

Specialist printer vendor Zebra Technologies has earned some Middle East channel stripes with the appointment of Alaa Nawash as its dedicated channel account manager in the region.

Nawash is charged with expanding Zebra’s channel partner network in the region and opening up new vertical market opportunities for the vendor. Zebra specialises in bar code and specialty label printing solutions for business and government customers.

Nawash joins Zebra from Canon Middle East where he held the role of senior area sales manager. Prior to that role, Nawash spent some two-and-a-half years as strategic account manager for Xerox in Saudi Arabia.

“Alaa brings with him years of local experience and detailed knowledge of the channel environment,” explained Paul Garner, regional sales manager at Zebra.

Zebra reckons that its local sales have accelerated since its participation in Gitex 2005. The company now wants to improve its communication with business partners across the Gulf and enhance the support available to the sales and distribution channel. A specially designed sales programme, which has already been launched in Europe, is scheduled to hit the Middle East market shortly.

“I am looking forward to working with Zebra, as Zebra realises the need for well developed strategies and tools,” said Nawash. “Combined with my knowledge of the market, this should be a winning hand.”
