All schools in Abu Dhabi will be closed on Wednesday as stormy weather is forecast to hit the UAE.

The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) said that the measure had been taken to ensure the safety of students, according to state news agency WAM.

Unstable weather is expected to continue in the UAE until Thursday, with heavy rain and hailstones affecting Al Ain and Abu Dhabi early on Wednesday morning.
