Commercial tower along the UAE capital’s creek to be opened in the first quarter of 2012
Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company
(TDIC) has partnered with Al Fahim Group to build a commercial tower worth more
than AED200m ($24.7m), along the UAE capital’s creek.
Ali and Sons Contracting bagged the development contract and
Khatib and Alami were appointed consultants for the tower that is due to open
in the first quarter of 2012, newswire WAM reported on Sunday.
"B2B Hotels & Properties is a joint venture between
TDIC and Al Fahim Group created to expand the growing district of Abu Dhabi
creek, also called Bab Al Bahr - Gateway to the Sea, enabling business
travellers to be in close proximity to the capital's touristic and commercial
landmarks," Rashed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, MD of Al Fahim Group said.
Covering a total area of 18,000 square meters (sqm), and a
total build-up area of almost 70,000 sqm, the tower consists of nine floors
with two levels of underground parking capable of holding over 600 cars at
once, WAM said.
Catering to high-end corporations, the ground floor of the
structure will be divided into retail spaces, restaurants and cafes.
Each floor is around
3,300 sqm of open space for companies to freely design their offices to fit
their business requirements, the newswire added.
In October 2009, TDIC and Al Fahim Group launched their first joint venture,
Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, operated by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, corroborating
both organizations' determination to sustaining the economy and advancement of
