Projects include expansion of Mayan residential project, located near Yas Links Golf Course, with more than 500 residential apartments
The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), the strategic planning agency, has approved 40 new development projects, stretching over an area of seven million square metres.
Among the endorsed projects are expansion of the Mayan residential project, located near Yas Links Golf Course, with more than 500 residential apartments, and Al Nasim, a housing project for Emiratis that will include 93 villas and women-only clubs, malls and mosques.
In the Eastern Region, the UPC approved development of Al Lulu shopping mall in Madinat Zayed, featuring 75 retail shops, ten restaurants, a coffee shop and other entertainment facilities.
The council said 17 projects and four master plans will be carried out on Abu Dhabi’s islands, while 12 projects and a master plan will be built on Abu Dhabi mainland. Four projects and master plans will be executed in Al Ain city, with another two projects in the Eastern Region.
The percentage of approved development projects rose to three percent compared with the same period of 2015. The number of buildings approved for Estidama’s Pearl Ratings were 109.
