Acer Computer and local partner Al Alamiah are reporting strong growth in the Kingdom following several initiatives to build the market.
Acer Computer is reporting major growth in Saudi Arabia, thanks to its close relationship with Al Alamiah Electronics. So far this year Acer has enjoyed growth of 20%, with the company predicting an increase in business from 2001 of up to 50% by the year end.“Al Alamiah is proud to be associated with the Acer brand, one which has come to signify customer-focused, innovative products for a generation of Saudi nationals. We are delighted to be extending, and building upon, our longtime relationship with Acer Computer,” said Hamed Al-Sharekh, president of Al Alamiah.Among the initiatives helping to build Acer’s business in Saudi is its new web site, www.acer.com.sa, an e-commerce site that allows customers to buy Acer products online. Al Alamiah provides the back end physical services for the site, from order management to logistics and after sales support.“Al Alamiah is an enthusiastic partner in Acer’s new online ordering channel, which gives Kingdom’s end-users greater freedom of choice and flexibility when purchasing the latest Acer technology,” said Sunil Nair, country sales manager, Acer. “With Internet usage in Saudi Arabia on the increase, and Acer’s strong brand awareness in this market, we are confident of the long-term potential for Acer’s online site. Following the launch of the Acer e-commerce site in Saudi Arabia less than one month ago, we have already received considerable online response from the Kingdom’s Internet-savvy end-users.”Acer also recently completed its free customer service programme, the Acer Care Camp, which gave customers free servicing on Acer PCs regardless of warranty status. “Acer is committed to providing its customers in Saudi Arabia with user-friendly technology and world-class support, but to do this, we must have the right partner in the Kingdom. Based on Acer’s growth in the Saudi market, Al Alamiah has been, and will continue to be, one of Acer’s premier partners in the entire Middle East region,” said Eric Tien, managing director, Acer Computer.
