Actel appoints ETC

Lebanese based Actel Wireless, a fast growing distributor of wireless technology products, has appointed Eurotelecom (ETC) as an exclusive in-country distributor for Kuwait.

Lebanese based Actel Wireless, a fast growing distributor of wireless technology products, has appointed Eurotelecom (ETC) as an exclusive in-country distributor for Kuwait. ETC will stock all Actel Wireless and Falcom brand GPS, GSM and GPRS wireless modems, communications and tracking systems, for both personal and vehicle use.

“ETC is looking after all of our business in Kuwait. Before, we had a few customers but I think that the vision of ETC and the fact that they have such a wide focus and spread in Kuwait means they can do very well and go far with the brands,” said Kahlil N Khalil, sales manger at Actel Wireless.

ETC was founded in 1993 in Kuwait and is a conglomerate of smaller companies that joined forces to supply telecommunications technology. ETC has its own retail outlets across the country, as well as selling directly into corporate accounts. ETC currently stocks mobile telephones and is the regional reseller of accessories from Krusell and its own brand, E Accessories.

Actel wireless’ search for partners doesn’t end with the appointment of ETC, the Lebanese distributor is also looking for more companies to work in-country. Actel has a dual role, working with both volume product and providing solutions.

“I have had a lot of trouble keeping up with the demand and Actel can’t handle all the present business across the region. We have been in talks with a company in Qatar and a company in Dubai, but have agreed nothing solid as of yet. The move to include ETC is the first step forward,” added Khalil.

Actel Wireless is based out of Beirut, Lebanon and stocks over 100 different wireless technology products, including GSM, GPS and GPRS technologies and vertical applications like car locators (AVL) and networks and security (CCTV VIA GSM). Khalil says that Actel sells between 1,000 and 2,000 Falcom products per quarter.
