ADNEC to expand

District cooling firm Tabreed has won a contract with Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (ADNEC) to provide over 16,500TR for its new development.

Cooling services will be provided in three phases.

The first phase of the project will require 8,700TR and is due to complete by January 2007.

The development will include 14 exhibition halls plus one mixed-use tower comprising of a five-star hotel, hotel apartments and commercial developments.

ADNEC venue and operations director Clive Lowe commented on the choice of services: “The venue will incorporate state-of-the-art facilities and we decided to use district cooling for its cooling requirements because of the advantages it offers over conventional methods.

Tabreed being an industry leader was a natural choice as a supplier.”

Tabreed ceo Dany Safi added: “ADNEC’s new venue will be among the world’s best exhibition facilities and is a challenging project.

It gives us the opportunity to demonstrate the advantage of district cooling to a wider audience.”
