Afghanistan gets cola plant

Coca-Cola has opened a new bottling plant in Afghanistan, calling the country a ‘missing link’ in its international business. The 60,000m² factory in Kabul comes more than a decade after civil war forced the soft drinks group out of the country. The plant will operate under a franchise, and is expected to focus on carbonated soft drinks brands such as Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite.
