Agility inflates Northern Europe presence

Agility continued its international expansion last month with the acquisition of Danish freight forwarder Geologistics.

Agility continued its international expansion last month with the acquisition of Danish freight forwarder Geologistics.

The Copenhagen-based company, which has acted as a joint venture partner and agent for Agility since 2004, has established a broad portfolio of sea and air freight solutions. In particular, it has developed a strong customer base in the chemical, pharmaceutical and technology sectors, with a dedicated workforce of 17 employees.

As part of the acquisition contract, Agility will increase its stake in the company from 29% to 100%, with all Geologistics operations being integrated and rebranded under the Agility umbrella. Access will also be provided to all carrier programmes and support services, such as tender management, sales and marketing and operations excellence.

“We are fully integrating a well established and proven partner into the European region,” said Chris Price, managing director of Agility in North Europe. “This is perfectly in line with Agility Europe’s dedicated growth strategy and further solidifies our presence in this important market, which links the North of Europe to the rest of the world.”
