Air India advertised 197 job openings for captain and first officer positions, but had no one turn up for the walk-in interviews
Air India advertised 197 job openings for captain and first officer positions and then held walk-in interview sessions for two-days in Hyderabad last week. But, according to Australia’s news.com.au website, no one turned up.
The website quoted an airline crew member as saying: “It’s a statement on the state of affairs at Air India that a once-sought-after job failed to attract a single applicant.”
According to the report, the airline has been facing crew shortages since last year.
The Indian government is also planning to set “anti-poaching” rules to bar airlines from hiring each other’s staff. For all the latest transport news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
