Aircraft manufacturer jetting into Dubai

A light jet aircraft is set to make its first appearance in the Middle East next month.

A light jet aircraft is set to make its first appearance in the Middle East next month.

The SR22 Turbo, a single engine plane developed by Cirrus Design Corporation, will be on display at the Dubai AirShow from November 11-15.

Each plane is fitted with the Cirrus Aircraft Parachute System, an emergency parachute capable of safely lowering the aircraft's crew and passengers to the ground.

"At present the Middle East is an untapped market for us and as such we look to capitalise upon the expanding general aviation opportunities in the region," said Cirrus' John Bingham.

He added that the aircraft manufacturer's management is keen to generate interest at the event. "We aim to make our planes, and the lifestyles associated with them, available to customers in the Middle East, and envisage the market will grow healthily over the next few years, especially in the private aviation sector."

The Dubai Airshow, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is expected to attract 900 exhibitors from 47 countries.
