Ajman TV launches new English language segment

7 to 9 will air two hours of local content daily and promises to act as a “mirror for the 143 nationalities that live in the UAE.”

Ajman Television has unveiled a new, two-hour, English language entertainment segment, which will air across the Middle East. Set to begin full broadcasting on 6 February, 7 to 9 is a co-operative venture between Ajman TV’s Abdullah Mohammed Murad and Indian businessman Ajay Sethi.“There is definitely a niche market for local viewing,” says Murad. “With so many stations showing the same international programmes there is no fresh content emerging. 7 to 9 defines itself by being for the people by the people. The anchors and participants are all residents of the UAE and that is what makes 7 to 9 unusual and riveting to watch.”7 to 9 has already begun a two-week teaser transmission to allow viewers a sneak preview of the programmes on offer and time to tune their sets to the free channel. Ajman Television is available on terrestrial television, Nile Sat and E-vision.
