Adnan Al Falah is stepping down as managing director of distribution giant Tech Data’s Middle East operation. Hanspeter Eiselt, a senior EMEA executive at Azlan, Tech Data’s value added distribution unit, is the firm favourite to replace Al Falah.

“I have been talking to Tech Data Europe to ensure that there is a smooth changeover,” explained Al Falah. “I will be here until the end of September and will be able to help my replacement settle into the new role.”

“There is a strong team in place at Tech Data and once a new person has settled in they will be in a great position to continue to grow the business in the Middle East,” he added.

Al Falah, who has an extensive career history in distribution, plans to return to the UK after some five-and-a-half years in the Middle East.

“It has been the most enjoyable period I have had in the distribution game for some time,” Al Falah added. “Distribution is in my blood and I am not aspiring to join a vendor. I still have enormous amounts of energy.”

While Al Falah has stepped down from his role at Tech Data Middle East he has not ruled out the possibility of continuing to work for Tech Data in Europe. Eiselt is expected to arrive in the Middle East on August 12th.
