Spate of fires in UAE has sparked renewed demand for safety measures
Al Futtaim Engineering has set up a new business division dedicated to fire protection and detection systems, it announced on Wednesday.
It comes as a spate of fires at high-rise buildings has turned the spotlight on fire safety in the UAE and prompted fresh demand for fire safety products and equipment.
Al Futtaim Engineering’s Control and Life Safety division aims to undertake design, engineering, supply, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of detection systems, alarms, emergency lighting services, fire suppression systems and a range of other products.
It said it would service all types of buildings, including commercial, residential, industrial, retail, hospitality and infrastructure projects.
The new division has been approved by Dubai Civil Defence and complies with all major international fire safety codes and standards, the company said.
Dawood Bin Ozair, senior managing director at Al Futtaim Engineering & Technologies, said: “With the launch of this new division, Al-Futtaim Engineering is able to provide complete 360-degree solutions to our clients.
“The Control and Life Safety division can handle the most demanding fire protection and building management system projects and maintenance requirements to deliver high quality work on time.”
