Al-Futtaim honours supply chain partners

The retail division of Al-Futtaim recently hosted an awards ceremony to honour its supply chain partners.

The retail division of Al-Futtaim recently hosted an awards ceremony in Dubai to honour a number of its supply chain partners.

Representatives from logistics companies throughout the Middle East attended the event and collected awards for their work with Al-Futtaim, which represents a number of retail brands, including the likes of IKEA, Marks & Spencer, Perlini's Silver and Toys R Us.

"Each stakeholder in our supply chain has played a predominant role in Al-Futtaim's operations. However, this process can only be deemed a success if the various links are connected to each other and work as a team," said Sebastian Thomas, logistics manager, Al-Futtaim retail division. "This is the message we wanted to send out through our awards ceremony. We organised this event to celebrate the success of partnerships between Al-Futtaim and its various supply chain and trade partners."

Companies such as Aramex, UPS, Agility, Gulf Agency Company (GAC), Al-Futtaim Logistics and DHL were amongst this year's 3PL winners. In addition, Dubai Customs, Jebel Ali Free Zone, DP World, Dubai Municipality, Maersk Line and Dubai Chamber were also selected for achievement awards.

"Its our policy to remain focused on core competency and outsource the rest to professionals who are experts in their specialisation," said Thomas.

"It is crucial to recognise the support and service of all our trade partners as they have played a pivotal role in our supply chain," he added.
