Al-Futtaim installs comms networks at Dubai hotels

GITEX: Systems integrator completes implementation at Al Manzil and Qamardeen.

Dubai systems integrator Al-Futtaim Technologies said on Monday it has finished installing communication networks at two hotels in Dubai.

Al-Futtaim said it has installed two converged communication networks at the Al Manzil and Qamardeen hotels in Old Town.

The package includes the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise communication server for guestrooms and back office, OmniSwitch active data network and the OmniAccess wireless network in common areas for guest internet access, it said.

The package also includes the FCS application suite for hospitality property management system and a Nexans Structured Cabling solution, it said.

“Our properties are centrally located and in the next two years we anticipate a steady increase in volume of visitors to our properties hence we decided to install the latest technology that would meet the needs of our guests,” Richard Weilers, managing director of Southern Sun Middle East, which operates the hotels, said in a statement.
