Al-Futtaim selects Comtrust

Al-Futtaim Trading has opted to use UAE-based infrastructure provider, Comtrust, instead of hosting its Web sites from the more ‘traditional’ North American and European bases

Business house, Al-Futtaim Trading, has selected Comtrust to host in excess of 32 of its corporate Web sites. Al-Futtaim has made this move following a trend for similar regional organisations to opt for UAE-based e-commerce providers, rather than North American or European companies.“We are delighted that Al-Futtaim has chosen our dedicated e-commerce hosting service for its Web sites,” said Comtrust’s general manager Omran Al Owais. “Their requirements demanded the upmost in flexibility, reliability, performance and, last but not least, security,” he added.Owais is confident that Comtrust has a solution to provide Al-Futtaim with all its needs along with the IT resources and infrastructure Comtrust requires to create a high-performance Web presence.“For us, the provision of dedicated high-performance servers and a physical environment with multiple layers of reliability, security and core system redundancy were factors that assisted our decisions to transfer hosting to Comtrust’s service,” said R.V. Hussaim, Al-Futtaim Trading’s CEO.Owais hopes there will be many other blue chip companies joining Comtrust’s ranks shortly as a result of Al-Futtaim Trading’s offering.
