Al Ghurair expands Jebel Ali industrial operations

His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum this week laid the foundation stone of a US $45 million investment by Al Ghurair

Sheikh Mohammed this week laid the foundation stone for the new US $45 million Al Ghurair Oil Mills factory in Jebel Ali Free Zone.

The advanced crushing and extraction plant will occupy 40,000 square metres and will have a capacity of 4000 tons per day. The plant is scheduled to open in 2002.

“We are honoured that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed has chosen to celebrate with us the first step of what is a hugely ambitious project for Al Ghurair Oil Mills and the Abdulla Al Ghurair Group of companies,” said Essa Al Ghurair, general manager, Al Ghurair Oil Mills.

The new investment is the latest addition to the Al Ghurair Industrial Complex in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. The crushing plant joins earlier flour, maize and oil installations. More than AED 1.3 billion has now been invested in the complex.
