Aldar Academies hires former UK inspector of schools

Aldar Academies, one of the UAE's largest providers of private education, has appointed Peter Carpenter, a former Her Majesty's Inspector of Schools in the UK, as the new director of education.

In this newly created role, Carpenter will oversee educational functions for all six Aldar Academies' schools across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, reporting to Nilay Ozral, CEO of Aldar Academies.

Carpenter joins Aldar Academies with extensive experience, having been a former Her Majesty's Inspector of Schools, the principal of two schools in England, and a former director of inspection with the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau for five years.

He said: "Abu Dhabi has been experiencing tremendous advancement in the educational sector and is rapidly adopting world-class standards. It is a privilege to be a part of an organisation like Aldar Academies, which continues to play a pivotal role in contributing to the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030."

As director of education, Mr. Carpenter will oversee the work across the Academies' schools, and support their principals and staff to ensure uniformity and augment stringent quality assurance measures.

One of his primary responsibilities will also be to improve parent partnership and active engagement, by establishing and leading an Academies-wide parent focus group forum comprising parent representatives from each of the Aldar schools.
