AMD promises new scheme

Processor vendor AMD has revealed that it plans to launch a new channel partner scheme in the Middle East during the next few months

Processor vendor AMD has revealed that it plans to launch a new channel partner scheme in the Middle East during the next few months.

Gaith Kadir, general manager Middle East and Africa at AMD, says the focus of the new programme will be on giving local system builders access to stronger levels of support: "We're rolling out a tiered channel programme worldwide and in the Middle East we are applying that programme to our region. We aim to contribute to our partners' success and work towards empowering them by providing them with access to information and support."

According to Kadir - who recently celebrated his first anniversary as boss of the company's regional operations - AMD will divide its partners into platinum, gold and silver tiers. Each level of the programme will have its own advantages and criteria.

News of the regional partner programme comes several months after the company rolled out its AMD Validated Solutions (AVS) initiative on a worldwide basis.

The AVS programme is designed to help solution providers deliver commercial systems based on its AMD64 technology by providing rigorous platform validation and testing, as well as post-sales service and support.
