Aptec makes it three in a row

For the third year in succession, Aptec has walked off with Symantec’s Middle East Distributor of the Year Award. Aptec was presented with the coveted accolade at the security software vendor’s recent EMEA distributors conference.

For the third year in a row, Aptec has walked off with Symantec’s Middle East Distributor of the Year award. Aptec was presented with the coveted 2004 award at the security software vendor’s recent Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) distributors conference held in Rome.

Prajit Arakkal, business unit manager at Aptec, puts the company’s sustained success down to its ability to add value for channel partners and enhance the Symantec brand: “There is a great need for partners to scale up their security and technical know-how to counter the ever-evolving threats on the internet. Our partners look to us to get guidance on the process of certifications, training and project designs and we ensure that we protect the interest of these partners to give them return on investment (ROI).”

“This is an important initiative, as security becomes an ever-increasing priority within organisations,” he adds. “Aptec will continue to work with our partners to enhance their sales and margins by offering our value-add services and business development activities.”

Kevin Isaac, regional director, Middle East and Africa at Symantec, attributes Aptec’s success to its proactive and driven approach and is confident the relationship will continue to flourish: “The strength of partnership we enjoy with the Aptec team gives me great confidence that the coming year will bring even greater results.”

The award was presented to Bahaa Salah, regional general manager, Aptec Gulf, Levant and Africa by Guiseppe Verrini, vice president EMEA at Symantec. Aptec’s triple whammy of titles is indicative of a close and meaningful relationship with Symantec.

With security software becoming a major investment area for businesses large and small across the Middle East, vendors in this space must ensure they are working with committed and focused distributors capable of building, maintaining and extending channels-to-market and customer reach.
