Arab suspect acquitted of terror charges at UAE court

An Arab suspect charged with promoting the terrorist organisation ISIL has been acquitted by the UAE Federal Supreme Court.

A fugitive defendant was given a 10-year sentence in absentia, while two defendants were sentenced to three years for links with the terrorist organisation Nusra Front.

The court referred the accused, identified as A.Y.J., to a counselling centre, where he will be prevented from travelling for six months.
