Company: Habboush Group
Wadie Habboush, as the President & CEO of the Habboush Group, is actively engaged in supporting what he calls the "Iraq Oil and Gas Renaissance."
He has turned a regionally-focused engineering and construction firm into a finance, energy and infrastructure conglomerate with global reach. As the Habboush Group's investment and project expertise grows, aiding in the process of opening up Iraq, his native home, to foreign investment remains close to Habboush's heart, aspirations and activities.
With a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University and also educated at American University's Kogod School of Business in Washington DC, after serving at Kirkland & Ellis' corporate M&A practice, Habboush took the reigns of the Habboush Group's global expansion. While managing the Habboush Group's existing strategic joint ventures with several Fortune 500 companies, expanding the business globally, and helping to oversee the firm's existing projects and investments, Habboush speaks regularly on development, energy, and infrastructure issues attending the World Economic Forum and the World Petroleum Congress among others. His firm, the Habboush Group, is the only Iraqi private sector group admitted to the World Economic Forum and also named as one of the WEF’s Global Growth Companies.
