As Human Rights Watch’s researcher for Syria, Nadim Houry has had his work cut out over the last two years due to the civil war.
In Syria, Houry’s work focuses on the arrests of activists and restrictions on the freedom of expression. In addition to his work in Syria, Houry also documents human rights abuses from the Beirut office. He documented violations of international humanitarian law during the July 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah.
Prior to joining HRW, Nadim served as deputy counsel for the Volcker Commission.
