Saudi state oil company says contracts for expansion issued by end of 2010.
Aramco expected to commence operations at its expanded Ras Tanura refinery by 2014, the Saudi state oil company said in a statement on Monday.
The company planned to build a 400,000 barrels per day Arab heavy crude oil refinery to enlarge the existing Ras Tanura complex to one million barrels per day, according to the statement.
“The intention is to generate fuels required by the kingdom, as well as feedstock for the Ras Tanura integrated petrochemical complex with Dow Chemical Company,” the statement added.
Aramco said it planned to issue the engineering, procurement and construction packages for the expansion project by the end of 2010.For all the latest energy and oil news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
