Plant located in Wasea, near Riyadh, will have capacity to handle 185,000 bpd of oil.
State oil giant Saudi Aramco has invited contractors to bid for the construction of a fuel distribution plant in the kingdom's central region.Aramco is overhauling and expanding domestic distribution facilities to meet rapidly-rising domestic demand.
The plant, located in Wasea, near the capital Riyadh, would have capacity to handle 185,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil, said one contractor.
The plant is a wholesale receiving and distributing facility for oil products. It includes storage tanks, warehouses and truck-loading facilities.
The closing date for bids is mid-November, the contractor said. The plant should be completed by November 2011, he added.
Aramco is expected to soon award similar contracts to upgrade around 14 bulk plants in several regions in the kingdom that aim at raising the existing storage capacity of gasoline, diesel and fuel oil.
