Atoz Foods launches new frozen shrimps

Atoz foods LLC has launched the import of organic chill killed shell-on shrimp into the UAE market.

Atoz Foods LLC has launched the import of organic chill killed shell-on shrimp into the UAE market. The shrimp, which have been available in France for about 18 months, are finding an enthusiastic audience in the UAE.

The shrimp are farmed in Andhra Pradesh, India, under stringent conditions. No antibiotics are used and the shrimp are raised under high standards of traceability.

Individual shrimp are checked for quality and tested for any contaminants before packing.

What makes these shell-on shrimp special is that they are killed through chilling, which allows them to retain good colour and texture when defrosted and prevents the release of toxins.

According to Atoz foods representative John Eapen, if the shrimp are slowly defrosted in a container of ice water, they will retain a higher quality than fresh shrimp, and they are available all year-round.
