ATV Jordan installs Ross switches

ATV Jordan has invested in three Ross Synergy 3 SD digital production switchers that will be installed at two new large production studios and a smaller news studio.

ATV Jordan has invested in three Ross Synergy 3 SD digital production switchers. The switchers will be installed in two new large production studios and a smaller news studio. The installation was carried out by dB Broadcast, a UK-based systems integrator.

“The Synergy switchers are easy to configure and install and we were impressed with the support provided from both Ross UK and head offices,” said Tom Swan, sales and marketing director, dB Broadcast. “The switchers offered the latest technology and a lot of features at an effective price point and are ideal for live productions.”

ATV Jordan went out to tender in February 2005 to build a new TV station and dB Broadcast was awarded the project as systems integrator. dB Broadcast is responsible for the full technical infrastructure of the station and is providing support to both the architects and builders. ATV is reported to be the first independent broadcast channel in Jordan. The switchers were installed at the its station in Amman, where a variety of news and entertainment is created, sometimes in front of live studio audiences.

The Synergy 3 SD is designed for large market newscasts, large mobile trucks, sports stadiums and production-intensive IMAG applications. Synergy SD also provides a growth path to Synergy’s Multi-Definition switchers. “We are extremely pleased to be working with ATV Jordan and dB Broadcast on their new studio build,” said, Sharon Quigley, manager, international sales, EAIME, Ross Video. “The Synergy 3 SD has excellent performance for a live production environment. The switcher is perfectly suited to ATV Jordan’s production needs.”
